The Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday paid tribute to Deputy Inspector Rakesh Dobhal, 39, who was killed in the line of duty on the eve of Diwali, during Pakistan’s violation of the ceasefire in the district. of Baramulla of Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr. Rajesh Mishra, Inspector General of the Kashmir Border, Srinagar, led an offering-laying ceremony for Mr. Dobhal of the Artillery Regiment on Sunday morning.

Mr. Dobhal had joined the Border Security Force in 2004. He is survived by his parents, wife, and daughter who live in Dehradun in Uttrakhand.

Eleven people, including four Indian Army soldiers and Mr. Dobhal, were killed in a major shooting along the Line of Control in the northern districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Indian forces responded vigorously to the shelling and army sources said there have been multiple casualties on the Pakistani side.

About 6-7 Pakistani army soldiers, including two SSG (Special Service Group) commandos, were killed and between 10 and 12 wounded, army sources said.

Several bunkers, fuel depots and launch pads of the Pakistani army have been destroyed and set on fire, they added. The army also released videos of the attacks.

Pakistan’s violation of the ceasefire has inflicted a lot of harm on the civilian population, including damage to their property, said Rajesh Mishra, Inspector General (IG) of BSF, Kashmir, adding that “the issue of violations of human rights “must be raised against the country.
