Following the launch of the BS6 compatible Panigale V2, Ducati has launched the Scrambler 1100 in India
Italian motorcycling icon: Ducati had teased the highly anticipated Scrambler in its BS6 look a few days ago. Today they have launched the same. The BS6 Scrambler is offered in two versions: Pro and Sport Pro, both with the same 1100cc L-Twin engine. The prices are Rs 11.95 lakhs and Rs 13.74 lakhs ex-sh, respectively. Reservations have been opened across India at all authorized Ducati dealers.
The Scrambler 1100 will be the Italian superbike manufacturer’s second BS6 offering after the Panigale V2, which was released about a month ago. Panigale V2 is priced at Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and is offered in a single variant with two color schemes on offer: Ducati Red and White Rosso Livery.
In the BS4 era, the Scrambler 1100 range consisted of three variants: 1100, 1100 Sport, and 1100 Special. The Scrambler 1100 range is offered in Europe in its Euro 5 compliance form which comprises two variants: 1100 Pro and 1100 Sport Pro. Also in India, the Scrambler will be available in both models: 1100 Pro and 1100 Sport Pro.
Design
As for the design of the new Scrambler, there are quite a few notable changes to the updated model. For starters, you get an updated seat and a revised paint scheme. It also sports new body graphics in addition to the new reconfigured dual muffler exhaust system. The license plate holder has been repositioned and is now quite low. The rear fender extension has been cut and is now much shorter.
Difference between Sport and Sport Pro
There are quite a few distinctive aspects that separate the two variants. For example, the higher-spec Sport Pro variant is driven by a lower, flat handlebar with cafe-racer-style mirrors at the end of the bar at each end. It also features a premium Ohlins suspension. On the other hand, the 1100 Pro is equipped with a Marzocchi fork in front and Kayaba mono-shock In the back. The Sport Pro also has a matte black paint scheme.
Powertrain
Upgraded Scrambler 1100s are BS6 compliant 1079cc air-cooled L-Twin engine what produces 86PS of power at 7500rpm and 88.4 Nm of maximum torque at 4750 rpm. The power figures witness a 1.1 PS drop from its BS4 counterpart. The transmission is carried out by means of a 6-speed gearbox.
Characteristics
In terms of features, the Scrambler 1100 range has three riding modes: City, Journey and Active. When it comes to safety, you get a cornering ABS from Bosch and a Ducati four-stage traction control, or DTC. Both Scrambler 1100 variants have Pirelli MT60 RS tires developed specifically for the model and Brembo brake calipers.
