The lawsuit also sought to prevent news channels from conducting media lawsuits of Bollywood personalities and interfere with the right to privacy of individuals associated with the film industry.
The plaintiffs also prayed that the defendants would respect the provisions of the Program Code under the 1994 Cable Television Network Rules and remove, recall and remove all defamatory content posted by them against Bollywood.
This comes from the aforementioned channels using Bollywood words and expressions such as “dirt”, “dirt”, “scum” and “junkies”, and expressions like “is Bollywood where dirt should be cleaned”, “all the perfumes of Arabia cannot remove the stench and stench of this filth and scum from the belly of Bollywood, “” this is the dirtiest industry in the country “, and” Bollywood soaked in cocaine and LSD. “

The lawsuit also reminded that the industry is a great source of employment, and that several other industries also depend on it.
The lawsuit recalled that Bollywood is unique and stands on a base unlike any other industry, as it relies almost exclusively on the goodwill, appreciation and acceptance of its audience.
The livelihoods of those associated with Bollywood are being severely affected by the smear campaign carried out by the defendants, the lawsuit claimed, adding that this adds to the ongoing pandemic, which has resulted in extreme losses in income and job opportunities.
The privacy of Bollywood members was being invaded, the civil suit sustained, and their reputations irreparably damaged by painting the entire industry as criminals leaked into drug culture. Being part of Bollywood was portrayed as synonymous with criminal acts in the public imagination, it was claimed.

A recent example that is being provided is the story after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. When the case was transferred to CBI, these channels were quick to suggest that CBI would start making arrests. The plaintiffs point out that nothing of this kind has yet happened. They added that some of the channels were openly conducting and publicizing parallel private ‘investigations’ and effectively acting as “courts” to convict Bollywood personalities as guilty based on what they claim was “evidence” found by them, trying to make a joke. of the criminal justice system.
