HYDERABAD: Almost 20 people were injured after a major fire which broke out at Vindhya Organics, a chemical factory, located in Hyderabad’s Bollaram industrial area on Saturday.
The locals and the police have taken the injured to a nearby hospital. The condition of three injured people is said to be critical.

Initial reports suggest that some workers are still trapped inside the factory. Four fire brigade bidders from Kukatpally, Patancheru and Miyapur were pressured to control the situation and rescue the trapped workers.
Fire department officials said they received a fire distress call around 1.30 p.m.

Four firefighters try to put out the fire.
According to the police, “a solvent was saved for some reaction after which it caught fire. The rescue operation was started to save people who might be trapped inside the factory.”
Video footage acquired at the scene shows the fire releasing huge plumes of smoke in addition to debris, including roof sheeting thrown into the air, creating panic throughout the area.
