Amid mounting speculation about the dates of the CBSE 2021, JEE 2021, NEET 2021 exams, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ interacted with students and other stakeholders via webinar Thursday to address your concerns.

Students and other stakeholders joined the webinar on the Union Minister’s Twitter account @DrRPNishank and his official Facebook page, Dr. Ramesh PokhriyalNishank, using the hashtag #EducationMinisterGoesLive.

During the interaction, Pokhriyal hinted that CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams will take place in 2021 and suggested to students to prepare for the exams.

The minister said that the CBSE will give students enough time to prepare for the exams while announcing the dates for the Class 10 and 12 Board exams. He added that the decision will be made with the coronavirus pandemic in mind.

Pokhriyal also hinted that the CBSE also plans to take the exams in online mode and asked students to stay ready for this.

The minister also said that the NEET 2021 and JEE 2021 exams will also take place in 2021.

Pokhriyal made it clear that there are no plans to cancel the NEET 2021 exam, as many students will. “NEET 2021 will not be canceled because it will be a great loss to students and the nation.” Ramesh Pokhriyal said.

“We postponed NEET three times in 2020 and gave students the opportunity to change their exam centers … we could have canceled the exam, but it would have been a huge loss for the students and for the country,” added the minister.

The minister said that the NEET exam has always been conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in offline mode, but due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the NTA is also discussing conducting NEET 2021 in online mode.

“We have done NEET in offline mode so far … but we will consider it if students want a NEET test online,” said the minister.
