The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams for classes 10 and 12 will be held after February, said Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, during a virtual interaction with teachers. “Board exams for classes 10 and 12 will not be held in January or February. The schedule will be decided after evaluating the condition, ”said the minister.
CBSE is making the necessary preparations for the 2021 exams. Regarding the final dates for the exams, the Board exams will not be held in February and CBSE will announce the dates after the exam very soon. discussion with stakeholders, Pokhriyal said.
Pokhriyal was addressing the teachers in a live online interaction through a social media platform. CBSE board examinations are generally held in February-March, however the schedule will be postponed this year.

Since this academic session was conducted in the fully online mode, there have been many apprehensions in the minds of students and teachers. The minister, however, announced that there will be no online board exams. Citing the plight of students who do not have access to the Internet, the minister said that the examinations will be conducted offline and efforts are being made to ensure that all students have access to quality education during the pandemic through different modes.
He also said that the exams will be done in a reduced program. The central and state boards have announced a reduction in the curriculum before. The minister also in a previous live interaction had announced that in case schools remain closed, there will be an alternative to practical exams.
Aside from practical exams, conducting preliminary exams in an exam-like setting was a major concern for students and academics. The pre-boards will be conducted in online mode, however, the CBSE had announced that it would conduct the exams in offline mode.
In their previous interaction, the minister had announced that the Engineering Entrance Exam: JEE Main will be held four times a year starting in 2021 going forward to allow more flexibility for students. Also for this interaction, stakeholders were asked to formulate questions by writing to the minister with the hashtag #EducationMinisterGoesLive.
