‘Blood-colored’ clothing found in Hathras rape defendant’s home, relatives say it’s red paint

In investigating the case of the alleged gang rape and murder of the Hathras woman, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claimed to have recovered ‘blood-colored’ stained clothing from the home of one of the four defendants, Luv Kush Sikarwar. However, Sikarwar’s family has refuted the claims.

They claimed that Ravi Sikarwar, the defendant’s older brother, works as a painter in a factory and therefore his clothes had red stains and were not ‘blood stains’ as perhaps the agency suspected.

“The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) stayed for two and a half hours and continued to search our house for material. They found red clothes and took them away, ”said Lalit Sikarwar, Luv Kush Sikarwar’s younger brother.

“In fact, these clothes are from my older brother, Ravi Sikarwar, who works in a paint factory and therefore had red stains. They were not blood stains as understood by the CBI team that took him away, ”Lalit said in a video message.

The victim’s mother and aunt had also gone to the millet field, the scene of the crime, on the outskirts of the Boolgarhi village of Hathras.

The CBI team had visited the homes of the four defendants on Thursday and extensively questioned their families.
