Actress-turned-politician and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate in the Thousand Lights Assembly constituency Khushbu Sundar cooked dosas on Saturday as part of her election campaign for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
While Ms. Sundar was campaigning in the thousand lights constituency on West Maada Street in Nungambakkam, she stopped at a restaurant where she showed off her culinary skills.
In an attempt to attract media attention, many candidates in Tamil Nadu have submitted creative ideas during their campaigns or while submitting their nominations.
On Tuesday, a yoga instructor stopped an upside down car to campaign for All India candidate Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Minister of State SP Velumani in RS Puram, Coimbatore. He said he did it to raise awareness about yoga and its health benefits in conjunction with election campaigns.
Earlier, an independent candidate Santosh went to present his nomination from the Thanjavur constituency in Tamil Nadu with a watermelon, as the fruit was assigned as his symbol.
Candidate Hari Nadar went to present his nomination from the Alangulam constituency with 4.25 kilograms of gold.
Thanga Shanmugasundaram, a representative of a farmers’ association paid his electoral deposit in rupee notes and coins on Monday when he presented his nomination from the Ariyalur constituency.
The assembly elections in Tamil Nadu will take place in a single phase on April 6 and the vote count will take place on May 2.
Elections will be held for 234 seats in the state, with the Congress-DMK and BJP-AIADMK alliance being the main competing groups.
