On the 30th of may is a red letter day for the BJP government as it marks the completion of one year of the Narendra Modi-led government for the second period on the power.
The first year of the second term is especially important for the party, as it has honored the top three promises made in its manifesto during this period, the repeal of Article 370, the Triple Talaaq Act and the delivery of the Ram Janmabhoomi promise.
While the party had big plans to mark the special occasion, the Covid-19 outbreak has forced to adjust. BJP President J. P. Nadda has taken a three-pronged approach to celebrate the first anniversary with personal, digital and virtual outreach of the programmers.

The BJP plans to take a copy of a letter written by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to 10 crore households across India. In the letter, Modi will seek a commitment to “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” in addition to sharing some tips in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, given the social distancing of the rules in place, BJP general secretary Arun Singh said that each group of the distribution of the letter will consist of two boxes only, and that they are kept away from the containment areas and quarantine facilities.
BJP has a lot of morchas, such as farmers, women and so on, and Nadda has directed all the morchas to distribute the face covers and sanitises all its members.
The party will also hold press conferences in 150 media centers across India, where the party leaders will announce not only the “achievements” of the duration of a year, but also of India’s “capacity for success” in order to deal with the Covid-19 outbreak. On the other hand, with the Prime Minister is going big on “Swadeshi”, each and every one of the BJP member will be made to take a pledge to support indigenous products.
Digital Broadcasting
The party has also asked all the booth level members to create groups WhatsApp with immediate effect when Modi government’s ‘achievements’ and the details of Nadda of the interaction, among other things, will be shared. Three days have been designated — May 27, 28 and 29 — to create thousands of groups of WhatsApp through the length and breadth of India on a war footing.
BJP national mouthpiece “Kamal Sandesh”, issue online newsletters in the next few days. The boxes as well as the leadership have been asked to inform the base of support on the same, so that the information of penetration is maximized.
While the party is going overboard with their outreach work, is aware that the main concern of all Indians is about the pandemic of now. Therefore, the BJP has decided to launch a short video where the India of the struggle against the pandemic is shown as a success story. All state units have been asked to translate and dubbing of the video in the local languages.
From the running of the bulls, Nadda has been regularly video conferences with party general secretaries and state leaders. A video is also made to portray an image of how “reachable” the BJP President is.
Virtual Rallies, 1K of Video Conferences
The saffron field may not be in a position to hold grand rallies, but it is for virtual rallies. “At least a large concentration in the smaller states and two meetings in the large member states will be organized by the party, which was attended by more than 750 people,” said a statement issued by the BJP. These virtual demonstrations will be conducted through video conferencing.
The BJP has planned at least 1,000 video conferences, to be attended by the national and state leadership. Each interaction will be of one hour duration, of which 40 minutes will be devoted to the speech of the guest, while 20 minutes will remain for the question and the answer.
Nadda has also been in charge of every morcha to the addresses of up to 500 congregations through the videoconference in the next seven days. They have been asked to highlight the “promises delivered” by the Modi-led BJP government. The BJP has also asked its leadership to communicate to the people the scale of the government’s economic package in simple terms.
