The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate has also been declared the winner of Wangoi’s seat, along with Singhat, the results of which were released earlier in the day, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday.

BJP’s Oinam Lukhoi Singh has been declared the winner from Wangoi’s seat, beating his closest rival Khuraijam Loken Singh of the National People’s Party by a slim margin of 257 votes.

Earlier today, BJP’s Ginsuanhau had been declared the winner of the Singhat Assembly seat by the ECI.

The BJP candidates are also in the lead in the seats of Wangjing Tentha and Saitu, while in the fifth seat, Lilong, the independent candidate Y Antas Khan is ahead of another independent candidate, Mohammad Abdul Nasir. The BJP had not presented its candidate for the Lilong seat.

According to the ECI at 1 pm, the shared vote of the BJP is 33.4%, while that of Congress is 23.7% and the NPEP is 10.8%.
