Bihar, one of the most populous states in the country, will vote for the State Legislative Assembly elections in October. And before the polls, the untimely death of Sushant Singh Rajput turned out to be a major issue for voting, with parties such as the BJP using posters seeking “Justice for Sushant” as part of their election campaign.
The BJP arts and culture cell in the state created and shared around 30,000 election campaign posters with Rajputs seeking “justice for the deceased son of the earth”, filled with the party’s logo. Indian express reported.
Printed in Hindi, the posters read: “Na bhule hain, na bhulne denge” (We have not forgotten, nor will we let you forget).
BJP Bihar State Coordinator Varun Singh said India Times that the poster was part of his campaign to seek justice for the RSS. He also said that the BJP Bihar arts and culture cell was one of the first to seek a CBI investigation into the SSR death case, which had initially been labeled a suicide death by Maharashtra police.
The news was received with despondency on the part of the parties of the opposition in the state like RJD. A party spokesman said it was wrong to add political color to the actor’s death.
Many on Twitter also called the poster campaign a “disgusting” poll stunt. Many apologized to the late actor, saying, “I’m sorry Sushant, you deserve better.”

The report also quoted BJP spokesperson Nikhil Anand as saying that the posters should not be viewed as political and that they were only intended to express BJP’s dedication in seeking truth and justice for the deceased actor. While the party has actively claimed that it is not using Rahput’s death as a voting issue, the party’s arts and culture cell in Bihar has been regularly holding protest marches and rallies to seek justice for the Rajput’s death.
Many high-ranking party leaders such as Ravi Shankar Prasad, Sushil Modi and others have personally visited Rajput’s father after the passing of 32 years.
Born in Patna, the tragic death of the Rajput on June 14 created a stir in the state, sending it into a state of shock and mourning. Following news of Rajput’s death and subsequent allegations by his family against his alleged girlfriend and others for instigating the actor’s death by suicide, parties such as BJP, JD (U) and LJP supported the ongoing call for investigation into CBI on the matter.
The matter also became a bone of contention between Bihar and the Maharashtra government (the Maharashtra police had qualified the death as a result of a suicide) with various politicians and public servants from both states exchanging barbs on social and traditional media. .
Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) regarding the matter. The actor arrived at the NCB office in Mumbai to be questioned in connection with the drug case. Rhea’s subpoena comes a day after a court sent her brother Showik and Sushant’s home manager Samuel Miranda to four days in NCB custody until Sept. 9 on Saturday.
