JAIPUR: Prime Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot on Saturday he accused the Union ministers Amit shah and Dharmendra Pradhan to make new attempts to destabilize the congressional government in the state.
Gehlot also opened past wounds by indirectly targeting the former senior deputy minister Sachin Pilot, who had sought a changing of the guard in the state in July.
Gehlot claimed that Shah and Pradhan, along with Bjp MP Syed Zafar Islam recently met with some members of the MLA Congress over tea and tried to convince them that the congressional government in Rajasthan could be overthrown as was done in five other states.
Don’t blame us for your internal fights: BJP
In recounting the alleged incident, Gehlot said: “The meeting lasted one hour. The MLAs told me they were embarrassed that Sardar Patel was the Union Minister of the Interior, but now Shah, who was offering us sweets and namkeen. Dharmendra Pradhan was ‘acting’ as if he was speaking to the SC and HC judges to ‘encourage’ the MLAs. They (the BJP members) tried to make us feel that he (Shah) was proud that five state governments have been overthrown and the sixth could also be overthrown. ”
“Now we can hear that the next shift is Maharashtra,” Gehlot said.
The CM made the charges while on his way to a Congressional office inauguration function in Sirohi. He asked congressmen to be wary of the BJP who was plotting to overthrow state governments using money and force.
In reaction to Gehlot’s statement accusing Shah of conspiring to overthrow the government of Congress, Leader opposition leader Gulab Chand Kataria called it absurd and said they have been telling Gehlot not to blame others for differences within his party. “The differences between the main members of Congress are known to all. The CM again blames the BJP for the threat they have from their own members, ”he said. The deputy leader of the opposition, Rajendra Singh Rathore, said that the internal fighting in Congress is so intense that the revolt can take place at any moment.
