Rajasthan’s Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot again blamed the BJP on Saturday for trying to topple his government, four months after a political crisis was resolved, sparked by the rebellion of then-Chief Deputy Minister Sachin Pilot. Gehlot had blamed the BJP at the time for engineering the revolt to bring down his government.
“They (BJP) conspire to overthrow the elected governments. In Rajasthan they are starting the game again, this is their thinking. People are also saying now that they are targeting Maharashtra, ”Gehlot said after the inauguration of a new party office building in the Shivganj Nagar area of Sirohi district. AICC Secretary General Ajay Maken and Head of State Congress Govind Singh Dotasara also participated virtually in the event.
“BJP previously conspired to overthrow the government with money. Everyone watched as the MLA (backup pilot) met with Interior Minister Amit Shah in the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan (minister) and Syed Zafar (now MP). The meeting went on for an hour. After the meeting, the MLAs said they were embarrassed to see an interior minister offering candy and namkeen, ”Gehlot alleged.

“All of our senior leaders, such as Randeep Surjewala, Ajay Maken, KC Venugopal and Avinash Pande, camped in the state and made the decision to remove the party leaders so that the government could be saved,” said the CM.
During the political crisis, Pilot was ousted as senior deputy minister and head of state of Congress on July 14. Two ministers on his side were also removed from Gehlot’s cabinet.
One MLA, who was part of the rebel group, denied ever having met Amit Shah or any other BJP leader. “The CM is raising this issue, as the leadership asks it to expand the cabinet and make political appointments. These unjustified statements are to delay the processes, “he said on condition of anonymity.
BJP MLA and spokesperson Ram Lal Sharma said: “Also previously, the BJP had never tried to overthrow the government. Everything that happened was due to their internal confrontations. The CM stated that in the first place the MLAs have received the quota. So why don’t you name your MLA who received it? If the government falls, it will be because of its internal struggles ”.
He said the allegations against the BJP leaders are unfounded. “Recently, an MLA in Congress alleged that Rs 10 crore was given to MLAs from other parties to save the government. Why was the CM not investigated? Sharma asked.
Recently, a video allegedly showed the MLA Congress Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya accusing two MLAs from the Bharatiya Tribal Party of receiving Rs 10 crore each during the Rajya Sabha elections and the Congress-Sachin Pilot dispute. Malviya’s alleged video led the BJP to accuse the Gehlot government of being involved in the horse trade.
