BJP Posters Left Out Nitish Kumar, Sparking Controversy on Election Eve | Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 Election News

PATNA: Just three days before the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections, BJP put up life-size posters with only Narendra Modi’s image across the state, clearly indicating that the party has decided to seek votes only in his name, according to observers here. The saffron festival also launched the posters as full-page advertisements in local vernacular newspapers.
Interestingly, Nitish’s photo drop also happened three days before the second leg of Modi’s election campaigns on October 28 – he will address physical demonstrations in Patna, Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur. The posters only have the symbols of the NDA components in Bihar.
BJP’s ‘initiative’ is in contrast to the posters posted by JD (U) after the announcement of the state elections that had images of both partners, Modi and Nitish Kumar. The matter has become so sensitive that neither the BJP nor JD (U) supporters are willing to talk about it. “No, it’s not easy to say anything about it. What can I say, they (read BJP) have complicated the situation? ”Said a JD (U) official.
When contacted, a BJP official who is also contesting the polls said: “No, I will not say anything about it. These are party matters. ”
Modi has held three physical rallies with Nitish in Dehri (Sasaram), Gaya and Bhagalpur on October 23rd. It is scheduled to address six more, three each on November 1 and November 3. As the program stands, Nitish will accompany Modi even at the Patna Rally on October 28, a source from JD (U) said.
The posters have listed seven development points that the BJP would focus on for implementation in the NDA government. The eighth bullet, suggesting Prime Minister Modi’s message, said: “Those who have worked honestly will continue to do so even in the future.” As a motto, they said, ‘Bhajapa hai to bharosa hai (where there is BJP, there is trust)’.
