BJP Leaders Will Soon Join NCP In Large Numbers: Ajit Pawar

Leaders who joined the BJP before the elections will return to the NCP in the next three to four months, Senior Deputy Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar said on Saturday.

“Before, during assembly elections, the BJP imported leaders and workers from the NCP and Congress on a large scale. They went to the BJP in the hope that the party will come to power and their plans for the development of their area will receive support. However, now these leaders are frustrated. They cannot implement any plans for their area. So now they are eager to return, ”Pawar said.

It will happen not only in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, but also in other parts of Maharashtra, he said.

Pawar said he will not comment on who will join the party as the electoral code of conduct for the Gram Panchayat elections is in effect. “There are some leaders who want to join us now, but we will start to admit them after the electoral code of conduct ends. In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, we will soon be joined by some important leaders, ”he said.

Mocking former CM Devendra Fadnavis and BJP head of state Chandrakant Patil, Pawar said: “Some leaders said, I will return to power, and now another says that he will return to Kolhapur. One (Fadnavis) did not return and another returns, ”he said. Pawar said that within a year, Patil realized that she cannot work in Pune and now wants to return to Kolhapur.

Speaking about the recent merger of 23 villages within the Pune Municipal Corporation, Pawar said the decision was made in light of the rapid urbanization in these areas. “The gram panchayats cannot meet the growing expectations of these urbanized areas. With a meager budget, it was difficult for gram panchayats to provide basic services and therefore we had to merge them with PMC, ”he said.

Similarly, Pawar said there are some villages waiting to be included in PCMC. “We will soon make a decision regarding them,” he said.
