On Thursday, the BJP released its manifesto for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls, for which it is campaigning aggressively this time, promising, among other things, free coronavirus vaccine and testing for all, water. free, free energy, free tablet PC and high speed WiFi for economically disadvantaged children.

The manifesto was published by the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis.

“In Telangana, we have seen how the statistics on coronavirus cases were suppressed and how people from the state were left to go to private hospitals. How people had to pay thousands of rupees for treatment. We would like to affirm that the corporation will take an active role and make sure that no one has to run to any private hospital to get the vaccine, ”said Fadnavis.

The party has promised to establish exclusive Primary Care Centers (PHCs) for the Covid vaccine and to conduct tests in various areas of Greater Hyderabad, depending on the population.

The BJP has also promised free travel to women commuters on Hyderabad’s subways and city buses.

Elections for the GHMC council are scheduled for December 1, while the counting of votes will take place on December 4. There are 1,825 candidates in the fray for 150 municipal divisions. In 2016, the BJP had won only four divisions.

Calling its manifesto a reflection of the aspirations of the people, the saffron party has promised the celebration of ‘Mukti Diwas’ as a state function on September 17, when the Tricolor was raised in Hyderabad following the annexation of the state to the Indian union. .

He also promised the rejuvenation of the Musi River and the development of the riverbank with central funds. “Free nulls and tanks from all kinds of invasions. Creation of an exclusive budget of 10 billion rupees for the modernization of nullahs and open drains, ”promises the manifesto, along with a ‘Sumedha Law’ to eliminate all invasions. Ten-year-old Sumedha died after falling down an open drain during recent rains in the city.

“In Hyderabad, large-scale usurpations were allowed for vote bank policy. Hyderabad was flooded not only by the rains but also by the policies of the municipal corporations, which protected these invasions. The citizens of Hyderabad had to bear the brunt. Wherever people can be relocated, it will be done in a planned way, ”said Fadnavis.

A sum of 25,000 rupees as relief in the bank accounts of each of the families affected by the floods in Greater Hyderabad is another key promise. Families who already received Rs 10,000 as compensation would receive the remaining Rs 15,000.

The party also promises financial aid to the poor to build one-lakh houses under Pradhan Manthri Awas Yojana (PMAY). A property tax exemption has been promised in all South Carolina colonias and slums, as well as a free permit for the construction of houses on parcels of less than 125 square meters.

The party has also pledged to provide free energy to all houses with less than 100 units a month, free energy and loans to all professionals in traditional occupations, tap connections and free drinking water for all houses.

He also talks about the elimination of the TRS party’s Design Regularization scheme (LRS). “This will redeem the people of Greater Hyderabad from the 15 billion rupee burden of LRS,” the manifesto says.

BJP National Chairman JP Nadda, Interior Minister Amit Shah and UP Prime Minister Adityanath are expected to campaign for the party in the coming days.
