Patna: Amid rumors about a leadership change for the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar, former Senior Deputy Minister Sushil Kumar Modi announced on Sunday (November 15) that Tarkishore Prasad Singh had been unanimously elected as the party’s leader.

Taking to Twitter, the leader shared the information, in addition, Modi wrote that he will assume the role that the party chooses for him. He wrote: “In 40 years of my political life, the BJP and the Sangh Parivar have given me more than anyone else would have given me. I will fulfill the responsibility of that role that the party seems appropriate to give me. No one can assume I left my party worker position “.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) unanimously elected Sunday Janata Dal-United boss Nitish Kumar as their leader. Nitish Kumar’s formal election as leader of the NDA means that he will be the next prime minister of Bihar, for the fourth consecutive term.

Nitish Kumar will be sworn in on Monday (November 16) at 4:30 pm at Governor’s House in Patna.

In the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections, the BJP won 74 seats, while the RJD led by Tejashwi Yadav became the largest party in the state.

Although the NDA managed to win 125 seats, three more than the majority mark in Bihar’s assembly of 243 with 43 from JD-U and eight seats won by two other NDA constituents.
