Speaking about the culture and history of Agra, Prime Minister Modi said: “This city that has a rich history and culture is now catching up to the 21st century. To develop smart facilities, a lot of work is being done for projects of value. of around 1000 million rupees. ”
He said that “this subway project (Agra), worth more than 8 billion rupees, will strengthen the mission related to the establishment of smart facilities in Agra.”
The Agra Metro project comprises two corridors with a total length of 29.4 km and will connect the main tourist attractions such as Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort with train stations and bus stops. The estimated cost of the project will be Rs 8,379.62 crore and will be completed in five years.
The Prime Minister listed the various development projects that were completed in six years after 2014, including more than 450 km of subway lines that have been put into operation in the country.
Speaking further about the Center’s effort to boost development projects with the help of modern facilities, PM Modi said: “In the last six years, the speed and scale at which the construction work of the metro was carried out reflects the commitment of this government. In 2014, 225 km of the metro line were operational in the country. In six years, more than 650 km of the railway line are already operational and work is being done on almost 1000 km at a rapid pace. ”
“In addition, in 27 cities, the construction of the subway was completed or is underway in different phases,” he said.
During his speech he also made reference to the recent Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), where BJP made significant breakthroughs, winning 48 out of 150 seats.
