BJP Delhi workers hold a protest in front of the residences of AAP government ministers Delhi News

NEW DELHI: Leaders and workers from the BJP’s Delhi unit and the party’s front organizations staged protests on Friday near the residences of Kejriwal government ministers over the issue of municipal corporation funds.
A heavy police deployment was carried out outside the ministers’ residences, a day after the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) denounced that the home of Delhi’s Chief Deputy Minister, Manish Sisodia, was “attacked by BJP thugs”.
The Delhi BJP, however, refuted the allegations, saying its protest Thursday at Sisodia’s residence was peaceful.
On Friday’s demonstrations, BJP Delhi spokesperson Aditya Jha said: “Our protest at the residence of Minister Kailash Gahlot was a message to the Prime Minister (Arvind kejriwal) that the BJP will not hesitate to intensify its uproar in the interests of the people of Delhi and the employees of municipal corporations who are suffering due to the funds withheld by the government. ”
Similar protests took place near the residences of Ministers Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai and Rajendra Pal Gautam in the area of Civil Lines and Imran Hussain on Rouse Avenue, said Delhi BJP media chief Navin Kumar.
The mayors and leaders of the three municipal corporations governed by the BJP have been sitting in an indefinite dharna outside the prime minister’s residence for the past five days on the issue of funds. They claim that the Delhi government is not paying fees of 13 billion rupees to civic bodies.
Delhi BJP chair Adesh Gupta and opposition leader in the Delhi assembly Ramvir Bidhuri will meet with the deputy governor later in the day on the issue, Kumar said.
The AAP leadership has been accusing “corruption and mismanagement” in municipal corporations and demanding payment of all fees on time.
