The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast fairly widespread to widespread rains with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, the coast and inland southern Karnataka and Kerala between 19 and September 20.
While the coast of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, the coast and the interior of northern Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe will likely receive widespread rains in the next 3 days, IMD said.
In its weather bulletin, the Met department further said that isolated places such as western Madhya Pradesh, Vdarbha, Bihar, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, the coast Andhra, Yanam and Telangana will witness moderate thunderstorms with lightning for the next 12 hours.
At least 28 people were killed in separate lightning incidents in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on Tuesday.
