Patna: The sons of Rashtriya chief Janata Dal, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, led a protest on Friday against the agricultural bills, which were recently passed in Parliament. During the protest in Bihar’s Patna, Tejashwi Yadav was driving a tractor while his brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, sat on it.

The video is now circulating on social media.

In particular, several political parties are supporting Bharat Bandh, which is being observed by many organizations and farmers unions across the country today.

In one such upheaval, former Bihar chief deputy minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav led a “tractor march” on the roads of Patna.

“The bills have huge consequences for the future of farmers. These proposed laws will paralyze farmers, as well as the entire agricultural sector in the country. The bills were forcibly passed by the central government in an attempt for making Indian farmers dependent on industrialists, “Tejashwi said while driving a tractor.

Rashtriya leader Janata Dal led a procession of nearly 50 tractors. Supporters of his party chanted slogans against the NDA government over the Bills. Yesterday he had urged supporters to hit the roads in each of Bihar’s 38 headquarters districts and register a protest against the Bills.

The ‘tractor march’ started from the official residence of Tejashwi Yadav located behind the residence of Bihar’s chief minister, Nitish Kumar, at Anne Marg in Patna. In violation of coronavirus-related guidelines such as social distancing, large numbers of protesters made their way towards the Governor’s House.

They were briefly detained by the Bihar police for security reasons. However, they were later granted permission to move onto Bailey Road.

The ‘tractor march’ was scheduled to take a turn at the Income Tax roundabout, Dak Bungalow Chowk, and end at the RJD office on Veerchand Patel Road. As a result of the march, normal traffic was severely affected in Patna, especially on Bailey Road.
