New Delhi:
The Opposition alliance in Bihar will win 124 out of 243 seats and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s NDA to win 110 seats, according to initial exit polls. The third and final phase of the assembly elections concluded today in Bihar, in which the stakes are high for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who faces multiple rivals, including former ally Chirag Paswan. There was a 55.22 percent turnout in Phase 3 of the polls, the Electoral Commission said today. In the last elections of 2015, the total turnout was 56.66%. The Rashtriya Janata Dal, once considered an election winning machine in Bihar, awaits a return, excited by the response its chief ministerial candidate, Tejashwi Yadav, 31, received in his more than two dozen demonstrations. The RJD is part of an alliance that includes its longtime ally, Congress, as well as left-wing parties. This morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to voters to “set a new record” when elections began in the final phase. Prime Minister Modi, who attended 12 demonstrations during the campaign, had presented an open letter to the people of the state on Thursday saying he “needed” Nitish Kumar in the state for Bihar’s development to continue unhindered.
An estimated 45.9 percent of rupee 2.34 million voters cast their ballots as of 3 pm in Bihar, where 78 segments of Bihar’s 243-member assembly are voting today.

55.22% voter turnout in Phase 3 of the Bihar polls
There was a 55.22 percent turnout in Phase 3 of the Bihar polls, the Electoral Commission said today. In the last elections of 2015, the total turnout was 56.66%.
In PM Narendra Modi: The prime minister held 12 demonstrations in Bihar. He used the generic ‘Jungleraj’ taunt on RJD. He did not comment directly on LJP’s Chirag Paswan. He had an anonymous mention of Tejashwi Yadav with Yuvraaj. Return of Jai Shree Ram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai in an election speech. Note to Bihar to remind people of Opportunism Vs Atmanirbharta. This letter was above the 12 rallies. He spoke of a “twin engine” government for the next decade. It had a “Nitish Kumar need” appeal to voters. If there is anger against Nitish Kumar, BJP knows it very well. It was a direct appeal.

About Tejashwi Yadav: The RJD leader made pledges of ab10 lakh jobs. Held 10-15 rallies per day: 215 rallies this campaign. He is an electoral magnet, like Donald Trump of the elections. In 2015, Trump said “Work. Work. Work.” He did the same here. He left the attacks on Prime Minister Modi largely to Rahul Gandhi. He said that we are talking about economic justice and not social justice. He is aware of his speech defects. Meetings limited to 10 minutes. It may be the new format in the future.

At Nitish Kumar: The prime minister highlighted the central schemes over his own. He spoke more about Ujjawala yojana and not much about what his government has done. Spark was lacking in the campaign. He has been in a position for 15 years. There is rage. When Nitish Kumar was being attacked, including with personal spikes, by Chirag Paswan, PM Modi was silent. Nitish Kumar also announced that this is his last pick. He is only 69 years old. It is not good to drop the bomb. Later clarifications do not matter.
