PATNA: Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday (December 20) inspected the work of a ‘nature safari’ at the Rajgir tourist hotspot and asked officials to complete the ‘glass floor bridge’ ( aerial walk) there by March next year. He also inspected the zip line, zip line and the main wilderness safari camp area during his visit, according to an official statement.

CM Nitish ordered the officials to take the help of security experts to better maintain the place. He was accompanied by Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, CM Chanchal Kumar Principal Secretary, OSD in his office Gopal Singh, Patna Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Nalanda DM and SP, as well as other officials.

Construction work on the ‘safri nature’ in Bihar’s Rajgir is almost complete. This natural park is considered to be Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s dream project. The chief minister also inspected the zoo safari on Saturday, asking officials about the animal cage, kitchen and room built to keep sick animals. He also took a look at the vehicle intended for a zoo safari.

Speaking to PTI, CM Nitish said that “we have discussed starting a zoo safari in conjunction with the wilderness safari in Rajgir. But officials reported that the wilderness safari work cannot be done in conjunction with the safari in the zoo, but only the forest zone can be realized “.

When asked about the deadline for the start of the wilderness safari, the CM, after asking the officials present, said it would start next March.

The state government has started work on the project to supply drinking water from the Ganges River to everyone in Rajgir, be it Nalanda University, defense and police personnel, homes or hotels, CM Nitish said stating that once the Ganges water reaches Rajgir, there will be no need to seek groundwater.

The extraction of groundwater has negatively affected the rich heritage of the place (Rajgir), he said while exuding confidence that things would return to normal. “Our sole intention is to protect historic sites so that the new generation can be inspired to learn and understand them,” said the Chief Minister.

The state government is taking all necessary steps to revive these places in an attempt to promote tourism in the state, he added.
