Patna:
On Tuesday, the JD (U) exuded confidence that the NDA will re-form a government in Bihar under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, as trends showed that the political alliance was moving ahead of the RJD-led Grand Alliance.
Based on the trends available through 12:45 pm, the NDA led at 126 seats: the BJP at 73, the JD (U) at 47 and the VIP at six.
The RJD led in 66 seats, Congress in 21, the CPI (ML) Liberación in 14, the CPI and AIMIM in three each, the LJP and CPI (M) in two each, and the BSP in one.
Independent candidates led in five seats.
“I have been saying this for a long time that the NDA will form the government under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar. The opposition carried out a deceptive campaign with various attractions to attract the voters,” said the state head of JD (U), Vashishtha Narayan Singh.
When asked whether the BJP or the JD (U) will lead the government, Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Interior Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda have left “widely clear “on several occasions who will form the government.
The trio and other top leaders had said on several occasions during the campaign that Nitish Kumar will lead the government if the NDA returns to power in the state.
However, the head of the Bihar BJP, Sanjay Jaiswal, asked the media to wait until 5 pm for comment.
