Bihar Assembly Election 2020: Assembly Ticket Denied, Former DGP Gupteshwar Pandey Says His Life Is Dedicated To The People Of Bihar


Hours after Janata Dal (United) published the first list of 115 candidates for the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, former Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey, who was denied the assembly ticket on Wednesday, She said that she has experienced much struggle in her life and is dedicated to the people of Bihar.

Last month, Pandey voluntarily retired and later joined Nitish Kumar’s party. The JD (U) published on Wednesday its list of 115 candidates who will participate in the assembly elections in Bihar scheduled to start from October 28. The party has denied tickets to 11 of its MLAs in session while accommodating traitors and Gupteshwar Pandey’s name was missing from the list.

“I am upset with the phone numbers of many of my supporters. I also understand your anxiety and problems. After I was released, everyone expected that I would participate in the elections, but this time I will not participate in the assembly elections. There is no frustration. Be patient. I’ve spent my life fighting. I will be serving the public my whole life. Please be patient and don’t call me. My life is dedicated to the people of Bihar. I bow down to the land of my birthplace, Buxar, and to all older brothers, sisters, mothers and young people of all castes and religions! Save your love and blessings, ”Pandey said in a Facebook post written in Hindi.

Although Pandey said that he will not participate in the elections this time, it was reported that he wanted to contest the Bihar Assembly polls of the Buxar constituency. This time, Buxar’s seat went to BJP as part of the seat participation agreement with JD (U). The Bharatiya Janta party gave a ticket to Parshuram Chaturvedi from the Buxar constituency.

JDU has been allocated 122 seats and BJP has 121 seats for the Bihar Assembly polls. JDU will give HAM led by Jitan Ram Manjhi seven seats from its 122 seats, while BJP will give the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) 11 seats from its share of 121 seats.

Elections for the 243-seat Bihar assembly will take place in three phases: on October 28, November 3 and 7, and the counting of votes will take place on November 10.
