New Delhi:
A day after the BJP-JD (U) alliance won the assembly elections in Bihar, the BJP general secretary and state-in-charge Bhupender Yadav said on Wednesday that the NDA was misled by their former LJP member from Chirag Paswan in elections and confusion. created by them caused some losses.
Yadav also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s credibility were the most important factors behind the NDA’s victory in the polls, while Chief Union Minister Amit Shah’s guidance and party chairman JP Nadda’s presence on the ground , they also made a significant contribution.
When facing the Lok Janshakti Party, Yadav said the party has lost its credibility and there are question marks about its policy.
“LJP has chosen its own path and somehow misled the NDA. The people of Bihar have conveyed its importance to them in state politics,” he said.
Despite all this confusion, the people of Bihar placed their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and credibility, and it is the NDA’s fourth great achievement in the state.
“Modiji’s leadership and credibility was the main reason for the NDA’s victory in the state,” he said.
When asked why the NDA was unable to repeat its performance in Lok Sabha in the Bihar assembly polls, Yadav said that every election is different and that central and state elections are fought on different issues.
Also, there were some local reasons, he added.
In assembly elections, voters have different preferences and there are local issues, while the dynamics of state politics is also different from national politics, he said.
“In terms of social equations, our alliance was in a strong position and the NDA government had also done development work across the state. But by continually telling lies, LJP created confusion and that caused losses for the BJP-JD. (U) in the first phase, “he said.
There were also some local state problems, due to which the NDA won a few fewer seats, but the alliance has managed to get a clear majority in the state, Yadav said.
On what could be the reasons for the poor performance of JD (U), Mr. Yadav said that the NDA government had been in place for three terms in Bihar and that it was a big problem to seek the mandate for the fourth term on the development base.
“JD (U) contested well, but he also paid the price for the confusion created by LJP. LJP vice the atmosphere that they should not have done. They were also part of the NDA. The party also enjoyed a ministerial position and reaped benefits from the alliance in the Lok Sabha elections, “Yadav said.
Downplaying the chances of any changing of the guard in the state, Yadav said: “The NDA won the total majority and we respect the collation dharma. And in the alliance we believe that we are all equal.”
Speaking about the performance of Tejashwi Yadav and RJD, the BJP leader said that they have been given a mandate to sit in the opposition and that they must respect this and play their role.
On the performance of left-wing parties in the state, he said: “The rise of left-wing parties in Bihar is worrying because they believe in class conflict, which can disturb harmony in the state.”
The results of the Bihar assembly polls in three phases were released late Tuesday night. The NDA, which is made up of BJP-JD (U) along with HAM and VIP, went through stiff competition and won a simple majority with 125 seats.
Its main rival, the great alliance led by RJD won 110 seats in the tight contest.
