NDA may have secured the necessary seats, but it is RJD who fought the toughest battles. The latest EC data shows that the crowds at the Tejashwi Yadav rallies turned into votes, but not enough to get the required number of seats.

The Tejashwi-led party garnered more than 23 percent of popular votes in the state, the highest for any party in this election, and is poised to win one more seat than the BJP, which had Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a Union army of ministers campaigning for him. .

The GSDF, made up of AIMIM, BSP, and RLSP has four positions won and two leaders), while an independent candidate has won one position.

Meanwhile, the LJP led by Chirag Paswan could only get a seat.

Refusing to budge on Tuesday night, the RJD launched explosive accusations against Bihar’s chief minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi. The RJD accused Nitish of putting pressure on the district magistrates to keep RJD’s seat count low and claimed that the party would not allow the “public mandate to be looted.”

Taking to Twitter to share a purported list of winning Mahagathbandhan candidates in 119 seats, the RJD claimed that the scrutineers had already congratulated their candidates on their victory, but then refused to issue certificates claiming they had lost.

The RJD accused the prime minister of calling officials to change the results.

The RJD also stated that the final numbers will go in their favor as the Electoral Commission has withheld the ‘certificates of victory’ in at least 12 seats where the contest is closed. “This is a public mandate booty,” the RJD alleged in a tweet.

Speaking to reporters, party leader Manoj Jha accused the current government of pressuring the DMs in these hotly contested seats to obtain a favorable verdict.

“NDA is pressuring DMs in hotly contested seats to get a favorable verdict. In places where they told us we had won and were just waiting for victory certificates, now they tell us that we will count the votes. There are places where we are requesting a recount, but They don’t allow a recount there. So what is this anomaly? “asked RJD leader Manoj Jha.

In response to the accusations raised by the RJD, the Election Commission of India said its candidates were congratulated for winning several seats, but a recount was then conducted.

ECI officials said that according to an order dated May 18, 2019, in places where the margin of victory is less than the total number of postal ballots rejected as invalid is greater than the margin of victory, it is mandatory to return to verify the rejected ballots. . The re-verification must be compulsorily videotaped, stated the EC.

The Mahagathbandhan had joined the three left parties for the Assembly election. They had contested 29 seats in the elections to the Bihar Assembly. And it seems to have paid off with the Left Parties adding a 20-seat tally (12 wins and eight leads) to the Mahagathbandhan.

The CPI-M has bagged two and leads in two. CPI-ML has won nine seats and its candidates are ahead in three electoral districts. CPI has one seat and is ahead in three.

“We were clear from the start that we had to defeat the BJP. Our strike rate in Bihar is 80 percent and if we had been given more seats, we would have contributed more to the Gathbandhan count. Our alliance with the RJD and Congress combined issues. social justice with economic justice. You can’t do one without the other, “Yechury said. PTI.

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owai’s AIMIM is emerging as a surprise package, winning three seats and leading in another two. He had won a seat in a by-election in Bihar previously, but appears to be making significant progress in the Seemanchal region, which has a large presence of Muslim voters.

AIMIM’s alliance partner BSP also won a seat.

The LJP, sunk in itself, appeared to have contributed its bit to the unimpressive performance of the JD (U), damaging its prospects by at least 30 seats, according to the latest trends.

Chirag Paswan’s party, which withdrew from the NDA in Bihar just before the vote, will perform abysmally as it has not won or led any seats despite winning 5.63 percent of the 2.70 billion. of votes counted so far.
