Bihar 2020 assembly election: not only angry, people hate Nitish Kumar, says Tejashwi Yadav of RJD in Bihar – bihar choice

Just three days before the Bihar assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) renewed his attack on Prime Minister Nitish Kumar saying that people in the state are not only angry with the leader of Janata Dal (United ) but hates it.

Yadav, who is addressing rallies in various districts of the state, said: “The crowd at our rallies shows that people are not only angry at Nitish Kumar, they hate him now, this is the level of their distress.” The chief ministerial candidate of the grand alliance (GA) reiterated that, leaving aside caste, creed, class and religion, this year’s elections are being contested on the issue of unemployment.

The RJD released its manifesto on Saturday that focuses on providing employment to one million youth and forgoing farm loans. The party’s 17-point, 20-page manifesto has also promised a higher minimum price of support for farmers, better healthcare facilities, 22% of the state budget allocated to education (compared to slightly more than 20% in 2020-21), regularization of ad hoc workers in some sectors and plans to develop smart towns.

During the launch, he also did a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is competing in alliance with JD (U) led by Nitish Kumar, saying “if we had to make false promises like the BJP did … we would have promised give five or ten million jobs ”.

“The Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, has raised questions about our promise to provide one million jobs. So how will your future government fulfill your BJP ally’s 1.9 million job claim? Who are they kidding? I ask.

The RJD has promised to make changes. He has pledged to waive the fees necessary to apply for government jobs and also promised an 85% reserve in public service for state students. He also spoke about the concept of “equal pay for equal work”, along with the granting of an unemployment benefit of Rs 1,500 per month for those under 35 years of age.
