Bigg Boss 14: Eijaz Khan opens up about his mental illness and says ‘Sometimes I’m afraid of myself’ – tv

Actor Eijaz Khan, who is one of the contestants on the ongoing reality show Bigg Boss 14, has said that he has been struggling with his own mental illness and doesn’t think it’s all over yet. Eijaz had said in his introductory video that he is used to being alone and does not like the “human presence” around him. He even joked that he can snuggle with cats and dogs in bed, but he’s scared to think of human beings.

Eijaz later told Salman that he had been named after the famous Sholay villain and he has lived up to that name ever since. Even on the first episode of Bigg Boss 14 on Monday night, Eijaz was seen sharing his fears with senior Gauahar Khan. When Gauahar told her that she was worried about him, given what she had revealed in the introduction, Eijaz told her, “Actually, I’m used to being alone. But I take it as a challenge. I want to explore how I react in situations that happen in this house ”.

On fighting mental illness, Eijaz told the Times of India before entering Bigg Boss 14’s house: “I have not come out of mental illness. It is an ongoing process. There are times when I am still afraid of being alone and sometimes I am afraid of myself. The two years from 2015 to 2017 have been the most difficult. But now, I know it’s okay to seek therapy, it’s okay to put your trust in someone else. It is very important that you wait for what it is. It is important to understand, I am like this and I feel like this. The more you try to run away from the fact that nothing happened to you, the more anxiety problems you will suffer. “

“If I have the opportunity, I will speak. But unfortunately, what happens is that whenever I speak I feel that people should not think that I am speaking out of sympathy. Initially, people did not believe that such a thing as mental health existed, now mental health has become a hashtag because many people are half as knowledgeable about it. I have knowledge about it. I will certainly speak on the show if I get the chance, but not at the expense of the show. I know this show is watched by children, youth and the elderly who have passed toxicity from generation to generation saying that there is nothing like mental illness. If a life also changes because I talk about it and if even the father or mother tells their child to come, let’s sit down and talk, I think my job of raising awareness about this will be done, “she added.
