Host Salman Khan, whose salary has increased since he first associated with the show, had previously said that he would be willing to take a pay cut this year to get the show back on track after the coronavirus-induced economic downturn.
He said he will be “more than happy” to take home a smaller salary, so the unit does not have to suffer. “I’m more than happy to cut it down so everyone else can get paid,” said Salman, speaking with Abhishek Rege, CEO of Endemol Shine India, at the launch event. During their talk, Abhishek revealed that although the new normal requires fewer people on a set, they have not laid off any employees.
“The new normal wants us to have few people on set, but we are putting people in turns. We are not reducing employment figures at all. We are committing to the same number of people on payroll, although their time on set will decrease with shifts, ”he said, adding that no one from Bigg Boss’s team received a pay cut.
