In a surprising development, the National Testing Agency (NTA) recently stated that a topper failed the NEET 2020 result. Student named Mridul Rawat, who failed the NEET 2020 according to the first score sheet issued by NTA, actually emerged as All India Topper in the ST category.
Mridul then contested the result stated by the NTA and after re-checking the OMR sheet and answer key, it was found to be an All India Topper in ST category.
Rawat, 17, is a resident of the city of Gangapur in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. On October 16, when the NTA had declared the result, it gave Mridul 329 points out of 720. But after re-checking it was found that Mridul had scored 650 out of 720 points.
According to Mridul, its rank across India in the general category is 3577.
However, Mridul also detected an error in the second score sheet issued by the NTA. On the second grade sheet, the sum of their grades shows 650, but only three hundred and twenty-nine were written in words.
In a first, two candidates obtained the highest score in the NEET 2020 exams. Soyeb Aftab from Odisha and Akanksha Singh from Delhi scored 720 of 720 points, but Aftab was ranked first and Singh second according to the tiebreaker policy of the NTA, officials said.
