CALCUTTA: Close aide to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Manik Majumdar, who managed her and Trinamool Congress operations at his Kalighat office for nearly four decades, passed away on Saturday (January 2) morning.
Majumdar had reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 several weeks ago.
The Chief Minister of Bengal and supreme of the Trinamool Congress took to social media and expressed their condolence on his passing.
I am deeply saddened and pained to have lost a dearest colleague for more than four decades, Manik (da) Majumdar. We will all deeply miss her ever smiling face in my office in Kalighat, where she worked diligently and quietly.
