LIVE Updates of Bhiwandi Building Collapse: At least 10 people were killed and several were feared trapped after a 3-story building collapsed today in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi. The incident occurred around 3:40 am. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), fire department and police teams are conducting rescue efforts. According to initial information, officials from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) said 20 people have been rescued by locals and at least 20-25 people are feared to be trapped. An NDRF team rescued a boy from under the rubble at the site of the building collapse.

“The death toll has risen to eight in the incident of the Bhiwandi building collapse. Five more people have been rescued,” Thane Municipal Corporation spokesman said according to the ANI news agency. News18 has learned that a notice was issued to repair the 30-year-old building and city authorities had called for the building to be vacated.
