Kartik Sharma of Bhavan Vidyalaya in Panchkula emerged as the topper of tricity in the JEE (Main), the result of which was declared by the National Testing Agency on Friday evening. It scored a 99.998 percentile to secure 42nd in all of India.
“I used to spend between seven and eight hours studying in addition to my coaching sessions. A planned approach is the key to success. I tried not to stress myself out and took regular breaks. Teachers played a key role in improving our mood, ”he said.
The former, who had been preparing for the engineering exam for the past two years, wants to pursue BTech in computer science either from IIT-Delhi or IIT-Bombay.
Sharma scored 98.8 percent on the Class XII exams.
Her father, Harish Chander, is the CEO of the State Bank of India and her mother, Sarita Sharma, is a math teacher.
The top 1.5 lakh students on the JEE (Main) list can appear for the JEE (Advanced), which will be held on September 27.
