Actress Radhika Madan connects with us on duty from Mumbai, while her older brother joins in from Toronto for this special Bhai Dooj interview. And the joke that follows is absolutely hilarious! Madan begins by telling us about her best memories of the festival in previous years.
“He just moved back to Toronto this year. Raksha Bandhan and Bhai Dooj come with a lot of nok-jhonk, with me asking for money and doing the teeka. That is a ritual that has been going on since I remember being very little, ”she says, adding that they both fast until the ritual ends. However, he laughs when he reveals: “I wish I could say that I wait until he gets up, usually he is the one who waits. That’s a very sweet thing he does. “
TECHNOLOGY TO THE RESCUE
Arjun, who had completed his engineering course in Toronto, is now there with his wife and plans to start a business. He admits that he misses being in India at such festivals. “The whole feeling that the whole family is united… since high school, it was very difficult to put the family back together. We have found our ways to celebrate festivals, ”he says.
Madan spills the beans on the virtual bhai dooj. “Video calls happen, but since we’re in different time zones, I usually do a rakhi and teeka before he leaves for Toronto, two or three months earlier for the last few years. I also send him the rakhi and a card, and mithai, and he buys me something, ”the 25-year-old tells us.
COOL BIG BRO
Madan is quite a compliment to Arjun and calls him the coolest. “He never acted like a big brother from the beginning, he was like the coolest, even in the songs he listened to. I always admired him in that sense. It would be updated on everything that happens in the world. Whenever I liked him at school, he was the first person to know! Even when I had my first relationship, he was the first to know, ”he gushes.
Arjun in turn says that the best thing about his sister is that she is very dedicated to what she does. “And that translates into her acting, she works very hard on herself. I don’t want to change anything about Radhika at all. She is my little sister and has the freedom to do whatever she wants. She can get away with anything, I love her very much, ”he jokes.
REAL LIFE TOM AND JERRY
Madan says that both of them are really naughty and they keep teasing each other. “Agar main kuchh hoon, toh woh mujh se badh kar hai!” He laughs.
And after any fight, no one apologizes. “It just goes back to normal. We have hardly fought in serious matters, but if we have, whoever makes the mistake apologizes. Otherwise, we go back to normal and come to eat together, ”says the actor.
She calls herself the cartoon character Jerry and Arjun Tom, as these two characters are always fighting, to which he replies, “Yes, we love to throw our leg, and bauhaut saare pange lete hain. That’s what a brother-sister relationship is all about, right?
