Between Gurgaon RWA rules: ‘Domestic help must not touch elevator buttons’

Mandatory complete blood count (CBC) tests, daily temperature checks, being accompanied by the employers to pass from the common areas, and the work on alternate days — residents welfare associations and most of the gated condominiums in Gurgaon to enable domestic workers, chauffeurs and gardeners to return to work, they are also putting new rules in place.

For drivers, residents have been asked to call to them in a manner that ensures “the free time available between trips is minimal”.

In an email to the residents, the RWA indicated that the help to be “led on the phone” with regard to precautions, and residents to ensure that they are Covid free. “It is recommended to get the test concerned,” he says.

While a test is only in the advice in the Princeton Estate, the same has been made obligatory on The Summit of DLF5, with a circular issued by the RWA to inform the residents: “All the maids, chauffeurs, gardeners, basement laundrymen and car cleaners will have to undergo the basic CBC blood test before you start working, and then as per doctor’s advice.” The circular adds that the cost of the test will have to be borne by the resident.

Medical Director Dr. Jaswant Singh Punia, however, said, “A CBC test is not related to Covid. Apart from the tests that have been performed to verify if a person has the infection.”

Dipak Roy, a member of the condominium’s Board of Directors, said, “The CBC is to see if there is something wrong. Is to check if there are any type of infection, such as people with low immunity may be more susceptible. One of our resident doctors suggested this. It has nothing to do with coronavirus.”

The RWA of The Summit has also restricted the times for the entry of help from “8 am to 4 pm to avoid the crush” and ensure the guards are able to “monitor” his movements.

Concern at the time domestic help to spend in common spaces appears frequently in the communications of several of the Rwa. As of Sunday evening, around 350 applications had been reached, which means that only about 33% of the residents here requested for your help to be allowed entry again.”
