Bengaluru’s infrastructure crumbles when heavy downpour causes waterlogging: see photos


IT center Bengaluru is experiencing heavy rain on Friday. Silicon City residents have been affected by thunderstorms. Areas such as Hebbal, Majestic, Shantinara, KR Circle, Malleswaram, Basavanagudi, Kathriguppe and others have witnessed rains.

As heavy rains hit the city and its suburbs, it caused flooding in several areas. The rains were accompanied by thunderstorms and a cool breeze.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast light to moderate rainfall over Bengaluru and neighboring areas.

Bangalore received 66.8mm of rain between 8.30am. M. Tuesday and 5.30 a. M. From Wednesday.

Meanwhile, people took to social media to share photos and videos of the rains:

One tweeter wrote: “Heavy #Rains in #Bengaluru: Lake #Hosakerehalli breaks, water flows to residential areas”.

Waterlogging warnings were reportedly issued in several low-lying areas, temporary interruption of civic services such as water and electricity, traffic jams, uprooting of trees in the city.
