Bengal Roundup: Mamata Strikes Back Amit Shah, Kishor Dares BJP; Suvendu calls TMC ‘opportunists’ | India News

NEW DELHI: Mamata banerjee and his polling strategist Prashant Kishore on Tuesday continued their attacks on the Bjp, who has become the main rival of the ruler Trinamool in Bengal.
While Mamata accused Amit shah of “deliberately trying to project a gloomy and gloomy image” of West Bengal, his key aide, Prashant Kishore, fired another salvo at the BJP asking if its leaders would resign if the party did not reach the 200 seats it claims it will win in assembly elections .
Amit Shah, during his recent two-day visit to the state, said that West Bengal had fared abysmally in development rates under the Trinamool government.

At a press conference in Bolpur on Sunday, Shah had accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in the state of non-compliance, claiming that West Bengal lags behind most of the country’s states on several parameters except in corruption and extortion.
Issuing a point-by-point rebuttal to the claims made by Amit Shah against his dispensation, Mamata cited data from the NCRB to claim that political killings and other crimes have decreased in the last ten years under the TMC rule.
“When the country’s interior minister says something, it must be backed by facts, facts and figures. Bengal is ahead of other states in all development indices. But Amit Shah ji deliberately tried to portray a gloomy and gloomy picture of the state. They challenged me … here’s my answer, “Banerjee told a news meeting.
Kolkata has twice received the country’s ‘safest city’ label, he said.
“According to NCRB data, political killings, other criminal incidents and rape cases have decreased during the TMC government. BJP leaders, while pointing out others, should also speak out against the rape and murder incident of Hathras in Uttar Pradesh, “Banerjee added. .
Prashant Kishor’s challenge to the BJP leaders
And while Mamata continued to attack Amit Shah, his political adviser, Prashant Kishor, challenged the BJP leaders to say they would step down if the party failed to win 200 seats.
Kishor had claimed on Monday that the BJP will struggle to cross double digits in the West Bengal assembly polls.
The electoral strategist leads Mamata’s campaign for the assembly elections, and his influence on party affairs has not been well received by several leaders.

Party of the opportunists TMC: Suvendu Adhikari
Suvendu Adhikari, who recently left Mamata to join the BJP, launched another attack on Trinamool, his party for more than two decades.
Suvendu said “opportunistic” members of ruling Trinamool had in the past requested help from the BJP and Congress to survive, only to get rid of them later.
Adhikari, while on his way to his first public meeting in East Burdwan after joining the saffron party last Saturday, also called TMC a “private company”, which does not believe in upholding democratic principles.
He stressed that the TMC would not have lasted beyond 2001, had it not received help from the BJP after its creation in 1998.
Making his claim lightly, TMC spokesman Kunal Ghosh said the former minister of state might have forgotten that he was a member of the party led by Mamata Banerjee until recently.
TMC leaders cut money to hand out core grants, says Dilip Ghosh
“Most of the people did not get houses under the PM housing project for the poor. A portion of the funds disbursed was pocketed by TMC leaders. Those affected during Cyclone Amphan did not receive the allocated Rs 20,000 relief. for each family.
“Who got the money? They are the TMC leaders. Didi complained that he had not received central aid after the cyclone, but the fact is that 1500 million rupees disbursed by the Union government for aid and rehabilitation were not they used it correctly, “Ghosh said.
