‘Bell Bottom’ becomes the world’s first film to start and end filming during the Covid-19 pandemic

Akshay Kumar’s spy thriller ‘Bell Bottom’ has become the world’s first film to begin and end shooting during the pandemic. The 53-year-old actor called the success “teamwork” and said he is grateful to each and every member of the cast and crew.

“It is a team effort and I am grateful to each and every member of the cast and crew, from the spot dice to the light dice, the technicians, the makeup dice, my adorable heroines Vaani, Lara, Huma, my director Ranjit and Vashuji. and the production team who believed in our bold plan, “he said.

“The new normal has made us realize a different way of working that none of us could have imagined. I hope this encourages the film industries around the world to do what they do best and start entertaining audiences again. I hope our filming during the pandemic will reassure others that with all safety in mind, it is time to get things moving again, “he added.

The film is in the company of a handful of international mega-budget films that returned to the floors during the pandemic such as Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 7 and Jurassic Park: Dominion, managing to film in an unprecedented setting.

“We are immensely grateful to the entire unit for trusting us to keep them safe. We feel blessed to have had the right energy on the sets at all times, and it’s honestly why everything went so well,” said Jackky Bhagnani .

Producer Deepshikha said: “I am very grateful that we were able to complete the shoot. It was an extremely gratifying and rewarding experience when all the dice from various departments came to you and would thank you for bringing them back to work. It was possible without Akshay, Mr. and Dad. All the credit goes to them. “

For the ship’s captain, director Ranjit M Tewari, ‘Bellbottom’ has been an experience that he would like to savor a little more.

“I have been blessed with a great cast and crew! Akshay sir, Vashuji, Vani, Lara, Jackky and all the technicians have worked tirelessly to support the film. It was great teamwork,” said Tewari.

Bellbottom, written by Aseem Arrora and Parveez Shaikh, will be released on April 2, 2021.
