New Delhi, December 3

Ahead of Interior Minister Amit Shah’s meeting with Punjab’s Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, speculation abounds that the government is contemplating a new offer for farmers.

It can include the postponement of the three laws for a couple of months during which a committee, which may include CM and farmer representatives, will hold discussions.

At the farmers’ pre-dialogue meeting with the Union ministers, Singh and Shah are expected to hold discussions to find an amicable solution to the problem.

Meanwhile, regarding their meeting with the Union ministers, peasant leaders say they are only concerned about the Center. It is not about any political party or the CM of Punjab, it is about farmers from all over the country, and not just from Punjab, they add.

Sources say the government wants to solve the problem as soon as possible.

With the farmers’ decision to intensify the agitation, the ahrtias, which are under constant attack from the Center, have also decided to increase their participation in the agitation against the agricultural laws.

Ahrtia Association President Ravinder Singh Cheema said that an emergency meeting of the state body had decided that 100 buses of farmers, Ahrtiyas and workers would be brought to Delhi next week. Each mandi president has been instructed to make arrangements to supply the buses.

Earlier, it was decided that rations would be provided, but with the collaboration of the Haryana farmers and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, the food supply from Punjab was stopped.

Meanwhile, Captain Amarinder Singh left Chandigarh for Delhi on Thursday.
