Before counting, Chirag Paswan's birthday wish for Tejashwi Yadav

Chirag Paswan and Tejashwi Yadav share a love for cricket and have cordial relationships.

Patna:

One day before the vote count in Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Tejashwi Yadav received birthday wishes from Chirag Paswan, who along with him was part of the pincer movement on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the recently concluded assembly elections.

“Many happy birthday wishes. May God bless you with longevity and make your life a success. Today is your birthday and have a nice day with God’s blessings,” Paswan’s tweet read in Hindi.

Tejashwi Yadav, who turned 32 yesterday and is six years younger than Party chief Lok Janshakti, responded with a “Thank you brother.”

The Yadavs and Paswan have been friends of the family, given the shared history of Ram Vilas Paswan and Lalu Yadav in the JP movement.

The two young leaders from Bihar, who shared a love of cricket before turning to politics, also share a cordial relationship.

Tejashwi Yadav has always referred to Chirag Paswan as his older brother. Flooded with marriage proposals during the wedding of his older brother Tej Pratap Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav had said that he could not take the plunge before his other brother (Chirag Paswan).

In this election, Tejashwi Yadav had often backed Chirag Paswan in his attacks on Nitish Kumar, their common enemy, raising concerns about their joining forces.

It was widely believed that the two leaders had an understanding in the RJD leader’s Raghopur constituency. Sources said that Chirag Paswan sent a Rajput candidate to the seat with the express purpose of reducing the vote base of the upper castes of the BJP, which will help Tejashwi Yadav.

Shortly after Ram Vilas Paswan’s death last month, Tejashwi Yadav had attacked Kumar with a reference to his absence during the LJP leader’s family crisis.

“What Nitish Kumar Ji did with Chirag Paswan was not good. Chirag Paswan needs his father right now more than ever, but Ram Vilas Paswan is not among us and we are sad about that. The way Nitish Kumar behaved. .. he did injustice to Chirag Paswan, “the RJD leader had told reporters.

Tejashwi Yadav had visited Paswan’s house on the day that Chirag Paswan had brought his father’s body for the last rites. Unlike Nitish Kumar, who had refused to meet with family members, Tejashwi Yadav met the family and touched the feet of Chirag Paswan’s mother.
