Royal Enfields has always been very close to the heart of the motorcycle community and also serves as a perfect motorcycle donor for various modification projects. We have seen several tastefully modified Royal Enfield motorcycles in the past both in India and around the world. Royal Enfields still has that cult following and the Himalayan is one of the most affordable adventure touring motorcycles available in the segment and is often modified too. Here we have a video of a custom made Himalayan motorcycle known as the Marlboro Man.
The video has been uploaded by Ricochet Motorcycles on their YouTube channel. The video shows the whole process of modifying this bike. The whole bike is rebuilt so that it can handle any type of terrain without compromising riding comfort on the road. Himalayan is a heavy motorcycle and the customizers had to replace almost all the components. The rear sun visor has also been replaced.

The RE Himalayan’s front suspension was replaced by custom-spring USD forks. This helped them increase ride height by about 2 inches. The wheelbase of the motorcycle also decreased and that helped improve the handling part. The original 21-inch wheels on the Himalayan were then replaced by thick-looking 18-inch spoke wheels with a brushed aluminum and matte black finish.
Braking tasks are now performed by a Brembo caliper. The exhaust on this motorcycle is a custom made unit and the bend tube was built by hand to increase back pressure and initial torque. The rear sprocket on this motorcycle has also been replaced by a unit with more teeth. This has improved gear ratios and thus resulted in higher initial acceleration.
The air filter on this bike was also replaced with a K&N unit for better intake. There is a custom made 3 dimensional race plate with the number 9 on the side of the bike. A custom-made motor protection plate was also installed on the bike to protect the motor. The only thing this motorcycle has kept is the old 15 liter fuel tank and that was done based on the owner’s suggestions as he likes to take this motorcycle for long distance rides. The odometer on this motorcycle is also a digital unit and the headlights and front fender have also been replaced. Overall, the modified Himalayan or ‘Marlboro Man’ looks beautiful and is a motorcycle that can be driven hard off the road.
