The two leaders jointly launched a Bangabandhu-Bapu digital exhibition, a pre-1965 rail link, launched a commemorative stamp on the centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman’s birth, and signed seven pacts to form an India-Bangladesh CEO forum with the industry. of information technology as a priority area.
“It is a source of pride for me to be able to launch a digital exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rehman. They will continue to inspire our youth, ”Modi said.
Modi also said that there was good cooperation between India and Bangladesh to address the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
Bangladeshi Prime Minister Hasina, meanwhile, paid tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 war. “I pay my gratitude to the government and people of India who gave their unconditional support to the cause of our liberation,” she said. Hasina also praised the Modi government for its handling of the pandemic.
The Bangabandhu-Bapu digital exhibition will be exhibited in New Delhi, and subsequently in different places in Bangladesh, the United Nations and will finally culminate in Kolkata in early 2022.
India and Bangladesh have made efforts to improve transport and connectivity. Officials said leaders from both sides have pledged to reactivate and operationalize the six pre-1965 rail links between India and Bangladesh. With the inauguration of the Haldibari-Chilahati rail link, five links are now operational.
