BENGALURU: A deputy superintendent of police She was found hanging dead in her friend’s home here Thursday, police said.
He had gone there for a party, police said.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the death of Lakshmi V (33), they said.
The body was sent for an autopsy, they said.
Lakshmi was a 2014 Karnataka police service officer who got her first job at CID, police said.
He married Naveen in 2012, who works in a private company in Hyderabad and was staying in Bengaluru.
In reaction to the incident, Karnataka Interior Minister Basavaraj Bommai told reporters that the case would be investigated to find the cause of death.
“I have instructed senior officials to investigate,” he said.
Asked about frustration and depression among police officers, Bommai said the department has programs to help and support them if they have a personal problem.
“We have taken confidence-building measures in the department on a larger scale,” he added.
