TOI understands that Rohit’s fitness assessment is scheduled for December 11, after which a decision will be made as to whether he is eligible to play a test match.

Some believe that if Rohit had flown with the rest of the team to Australia and rehabilitated there, he would have been able to participate in the second test because he would have undergone mandatory quarantine.
