India and Australia are preparing for the opening test of the four-game series that begins in Adelaide on Thursday. While India has a couple of team headaches, hosts Australia have been dejected with injuries. The Australians, however, got a big boost a few days ago when it was announced that Mitchell Starc, the rhythm leader, would join the Australian camp and be in contention to play the first test. On Tuesday, Cricket Australia tweeted a video of Starc getting into a bowl in a training session, and on the first ball to Marnus Labuschagne, the left-handed fast pitcher sent a fiery goalie, against whom the batter had to take evasive action. .

Starc looked in a bad mood in the One-day International (ODI) series against India and missed the last two Twenty20 International (T20I) games after an unspecified family illness.
On Sunday, it was revealed that Starc would rejoin the Australian team on Monday after his compassionate departure.
While Starc’s return is a huge boost for the Australians, the hosts have some big decisions to make for the opening test.

Australia will have to do without star starter David Warner, who suffered a torn groin. His possible replacement, young Will Pucovski, was ruled out with a concussion after being hit in the helmet by a goalkeeper in a tour game last week.
Sean Abbott was also ruled out due to a calf strain and Moises Henriques was called in as his replacement. There is also uncertainty about the availability of young off-roader Cameron Green, who also suffered a concussion after being hit in the head by Jasprit Bumrah’s powerful direct shot.
