Australia A vs. India: Jasprit Bumrah hit a Will Sutherland delivery to the limit to reach his fifty.© Twitter
Jasprit Bumrah posted his top fifty in first class during India’s second practice test match against Australia A, in Sydney. To reach his half century, Bumrah hit a short pitch from Will Sutherland to the limit of the fine leg. Despite a fielder dove trying to reach the ball, Bumrah managed to muster enough power to send it over the ropes of the limit for a six and also hit his first-class fifty. This was also the second highest first-class score of the Indian pacemaker, which was previously not out of 16. It also recorded the highest score of Indian innings with an undefeated 55 runs in 57 deliveries. Here’s the video of Bumrah sending Sutherland’s delivery for a six to get to his fifty:

Bumrah’s arrival came at a time when India was struggling.
Promoted
India’s alternate captain Ajinkya Rahane initially won the toss and chose to bat at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Most Indian batsmen fell cheaply to Australian bowlers, with players like Bumrah, Siraj, Prithvi Shaw (40) and Shubman Gill (43) hitting decent shots for the visitors.
Meanwhile, Sean Abbott and Jack Wildermuth were in top form for the hosts. Abbott scored three layoffs and gave up 46 runs. Wildermuth took three wickets and conceded just 13 runs. Mitchell Swepson, Harry Conway, and Cameron Green each took a wicket.
