India’s skipper Virat Kohli, after scoring 74 of 180 balls, was unlucky enough to be left out after a mix-up with his substitute Ajinkya Rahane in the final session of Day 1 of the Adelaide Test. The wicket was a huge relief for the hosts as both Kohli and Rahane looked solid in the middle and had sewn a solid 88-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Here’s how Virat Kohli sold out:

However, not all Australians were happy about Kohli’s firing, including former player Shane Warne, who took to Twitter to express his disappointment. “Disappointing to see the great @imVkohli running off! You could tell when he walked to the fold that he wanted a big tackle and was super determined! Shame on us cricket lovers,” Warne tweeted.

After starting out cautiously, Kohli was looking for a great score, but that wasn’t how a late call from Rahane cost her her window. Rahane played a full delivery straight into the middle and called for a quick single.
However, the ball was hit too close to the fielder and when he realized that and changed his mind, Kohli was already halfway up the area. A good shot from Josh Hazlewood at the bowling alley and Lyon cut bails to send the Indian captain packing.

With Kohli on strike, the visitors were in control of their entrance, but their gate opened the hatch and they lost two more gates after him, with Rahane and Hanuma Vihari exiting in quick succession. Rahane was caught earlier by Mitchell Starc, while Vihari also dated Hazlewood in a similar fashion.
On the stumps, Wriddhiman Saha and Ravichandran Ashwin were undefeated on the crease, reading 233 out of six on the scoreboard.
