Natarajan was initially included in the touring group of India as a net pitcher, but saw a change in fortune and was included in both the ODI team and the T20I as a replacement due to injury.

After an impressive outing in his international debut in the final match of the ODI series, the SRH bowler shot impressively in his first T20I game and returned with 3/30 of his four overs.

Natarajan continued his hot streak in the next game and pitched economically in a high-scoring match, picking up two key wickets.
