Attack on Nadda’s convoy: MHA summons West Bengal DGP and Chief Secretary | India News

The chief secretary and the DGP are expected to be asked to explain the law and order situation in West Bengal, the measures taken to prevent political violence and other crimes in the state, an official said.
“The Interior Ministry has received a report from the Governor of West Bengal on the law and order situation in the state,” an official said.
Union Interior Minister Amit Shah called the attack on Nadda’s convoy “sponsored violence,” and alleged that the state “descended into an era of tyranny and anarchy” under the Trinamool government.
Nadda’s convoy was stoned as it traveled to Diamond Harbor in the South 24 Parganas district to address a rally there.
The cars of various party leaders, including that of the BJP National Secretary General Kailash Vijayvargiya and West Bengal BJP Chief Dilip Ghosh, who were part of the convoy, were damaged in the alleged attack.
The BJP alleged that the ruling TMC was behind the attack on the Nadda convoy and said the incident spoke volumes about the “mentality and frustration” of the Mamata Banerjee government in the state.
However, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee dismissed the allegations, calling the attack a “drama” organized by the saffron party to attract political attention ahead of the state assembly elections next year.
